Worship goes so much farther than that part during the Sunday service where we stand and sing. It is always electric to worship God corporately as a church family; however, true worship is not just a part of your life; it is your life. Worship should be ongoing and continual. “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.” (Psalm 113:3)

In addition to worship being ongoing, we must fully know and comprehend that we were planned for God’s pleasure. “You created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created.” (Revelation 4:11) Anything you do that brings pleasure to God is an act of worship.

True worship is continual AND true worship is for God’s pleasure. This paints an incredibly multifaceted picture of worship. Worship happens when you perform at work as unto God and not as unto the bonus check. Worship happens when you stop and thank God for the beautiful child He has given you…that just broke your favorite lamp. Worship happens when you love your wife as Christ loved the church not just as you feel you deserve. True worship happens all day long not just on Sunday morning before the sermon. Think about it. What is something that I already do every day that I can start doing as if it were directly for God?

Easter Element

This was a fun creative element we did this Easter. Mashed up Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love” and Phil Wickham’s “True Love” all with a night video element. The People You Run in to at Steak and Shake

We saw Nick Jonas at Steak and Shake. He was there with a bunch of kids…just being kids. There were no body guards or celebrity types with him. There were just a couple of people in the restaurant. My girls walked over to the table and snapped a pic and talked to him for a little while. Alanna and Audrey were in awe and absolutely LOVED it!! What a great surprise.

Him and his friends ordered 3 plates of french fries, and they all had ice cream. His ticket was $33. He left his waitress a $100 tip and said, “Merry Christmas and God bless you!” O.K. Nick Jonas…I’m pretty impressed with you bro.

Learning Your Lines.

Over the years of teaching drama and being in skits/plays, I’ve found a few ways to learn lines that could help if you ever find yourself with lines to remember and you’re not really sure where to start.

First, read the whole script and understand how your character relates to the entire play.
Second, read all the lines of the scene you’re in 6-7 times so your scenes are familiar to you.
Thirdly, record the other characters’ lines of the scenes you’re in. When you record remember that everytime your lines come up, just say them in your head quietly. Put this recording on an iPod, phone, media player or something you can listen to easily. Listen over and over. Say your lines outloud when you hear the place your line is supposed to go. Do this to and from work, at night, when you wake up etc. Lastly, condense your lines into little auto-cue cards with a few bullet points AND key words with the main lines on them and start learning off these cars. (Sometimes I draw pictures OR make acrostics to help me remember.)

Perspective

Walking behind our hotel this morning I saw many things that were nasty, old, dirty, smelly, gross, rusted, suspicious, creepy etc. In the midst of it all, I saw beauty in the presence of rubble (barn) , life in the midst of decay (flowers on the road), funny in the unexpected (note the random chair in the field) and then me in the middle of it trying to find something meaningful (those are my feet…ha). It really made me think about Phillippians 2:5 “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” Where is your attitude? Are you making something beautiful even out of the things that at first seem like they’re horrible? Find the beauty in life today…find the positive in the bad situation. God is right there in the middle of it and HE MAKES ALL THINGS GOOD!
