Worship goes so much farther than that part during the Sunday service where we stand and sing. It is always electric to worship God corporately as a church family; however, true worship is not just a part of your life; it is your life. Worship should be ongoing and continual. “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.” (Psalm 113:3)
In addition to worship being ongoing, we must fully know and comprehend that we were planned for God’s pleasure. “You created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created.” (Revelation 4:11) Anything you do that brings pleasure to God is an act of worship.
True worship is continual AND true worship is for God’s pleasure. This paints an incredibly multifaceted picture of worship. Worship happens when you perform at work as unto God and not as unto the bonus check. Worship happens when you stop and thank God for the beautiful child He has given you…that just broke your favorite lamp. Worship happens when you love your wife as Christ loved the church not just as you feel you deserve. True worship happens all day long not just on Sunday morning before the sermon. Think about it. What is something that I already do every day that I can start doing as if it were directly for God?
